Two Madison based teams took to the Poynette ice on Feb 3rd-5th in the 2017 Wisconsin State Mixed Championship. Tim Ebert skipped his team of Susan Dukes, Paul Ryan, and Stephanie Martin while Steve Day is the skip for Sydney Schmus, Dan Schally and Shalon Holbeck. The ladies on Steve’s team are currently half of the National Women’s Club Champion team.
Day’s team turned in 6 points in the third end to roll away to a quick win in the first game. Ebert bounced back from the loss the night before to earn a lopsided 8-2 win. But Day took game 3 and game 4 for the decisive 3 games to one margin.
They go on the the 2017 Mixed Nationals being held on March 17-25th in Williston, ND with a spot at the World Mixed Championships in Champery, Switzerland on the line for the winner.
